    How to read this quote

Yellow Transfer is the largest Nadi operator. Their yellow Toyota Wish and Corolla sedans cover most of the published zones below, with a Toyota Hiace van for groups of 5+. Their official counter at Nadi International arrivals is open whenever flights land — the desk agents quote the published price in cash (FJD) and accept FJD, AUD, NZD and USD at a poor rate; EFTPOS with Visa/Mastercard incurs a 3% bank fee, which the calculator does not include.

The night surcharge is real. Between 22:00 and 06:00 there is no public taxi queue at Nadi, and Yellow Transfer is one of the few companies with staff at the desk around the clock. The 30% surcharge covers driver overtime, fuel and insurance. If your flight lands at 02:00, expect to pay it.

Why the child seat is separate. Yellow's base sedans don't carry capsules or boosters as standard. The dispatcher sends a Toyota Vitz with an attached seat for FJD 15 — they ask at booking, not on arrival. Booster seats for kids 4–8, capsules for under-4. The fee is per seat, not per child.

Van bump at 5+ passengers. Yellow uses a Toyota Hiace for 5–9 people. The FJD 30 surcharge covers the bigger vehicle and a second driver shift. Above 9 they run a coaster minibus — quote on request. We cap the calculator at 14 pax.

Mana Island and Sonaisali include ferry legs. The base fare on those zones includes the connection to the marina gate at South Maniere. The ferry itself (South Sea Cruises / Denarau Marina fast cat) is sold separately by the ferry operator at the gate, ~FJD 65–95 each way.

    FAQ

Should I book before I land or just walk to the desk?

Book ahead if your flight lands 22:00–06:00 — the queue can stretch to 30 minutes and the dispatcher's roster is thin. For daytime arrivals, the desk has cars in rotation within 5–10 minutes.

Do I tip the Yellow driver?

Tipping is not customary in Fiji. A FJD 5–10 tip on a long-haul zone (Pacific Harbour, Sigatoka) is appreciated for help with bags. The driver won't expect it for short Denarau hops.

Can I pay in AUD or USD?

Yes, at the desk — the rate is roughly 1 AUD = 1.45 FJD / 1 USD = 2.25 FJD, which is far worse than any bank or ATM. Pay in FJD cash or by card to get the published FJD price.

What's the deal with surfboards and dive gear?

A standard 6'3" shortboard fits inside the Wish with seats folded. Anything longer (longboard, dive tank bag, spearfishing gear) is oversized — count it as 2 pieces or ask for the van upfront. Yellow does not charge a per-board fee but the driver may refuse on safety grounds.

Is the 30% night surcharge negotiable?

No. It is published on Yellow's rate card and the desk applies it without discretion. If a driver quotes lower in cash, that is off-record and not covered by insurance — request a Yellow-branded receipt.
